Hybrid Events

The best of two worlds

Definition HYBRID

– Hybrid events are live events that are extended with digital components. The narrower sense applies to events that can be attended both live on site and virtually. –

A hybrid event combines conventional methods of event planning and execution with the use of digital communication tools and social media. These can be integrated into all phases of the event. Participants can be involved in shaping the content or requesting information in advance, for example through apps.
During the event, participants can exchange information with each other, communicate live and be integrated via surveys or microblogging.
After the event, there are also numerous opportunities to integrate other media channels such as social networks. The possibility to upload videos or photos is only one of many activation options.

Through a hybrid event, the reach, interactivity and communication within the event can be increased through multimedia. The live broadcast enables people worldwide to virtually participate in the event.

Organizers also benefit: They reach a larger audience, are more flexible in their program planning and can collect and evaluate data during the event. They can also communicate directly with their participants at any time. Hybrid congresses enable participants to attend without long journeys, which is also good for the event’s CO2 balance and saves costs.
