High end conferences and fireside chats in the pure nature

Region Innsbruck Eventlocations

Founded in 1669, the University of Innsbruck is the largest and most important research and education institution in western Austria.

The University of Innsbruck has one of strongest international foci in its teaching and research amongst universities worldwide. This is demonstrated, amongst others, by the prestigious Times Higher Education World University Ranking, which has listed the University of Innsbruck amongst its top 15 in this category for several years. In addition to the broad range of courses offered by its 16 faculties, the University of Innsbruck also offers many opportunities for scientific discourse with five interdisciplinary research foci (Alpine Space – People and the Environment, Cultural Encounters – Cultural Conflicts, Centre for Molecular Biosciences Innsbruck (CMBI), Physics and Scientific Computing). For this reason, it has always been the workplace for numerous eminent scientists.

Obergurgl University Centre

Sport. Conferences. Fireside chats.

Today’s University Centre is housed in historic former customs buildings, nestled in the magnificent mountains of the Ötztal Valley in Obergurgl. Here, you can combine scientific lectures and conferences in well-equipped modern rooms with skiing, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, Nordic walking or mountaineering. Indulge in the essential pleasures of rest and relaxation in the in-house sauna and savour some coffee and cake in the winter garden, or some pleasant evening dining, followed by an evening spent with debating like-minded colleagues from all over the world in front of open fire.
