Austrian meeting industry meets in Alpbach

At the beginning of July, the Austrian Convention Bureau (ACB) invited representatives of the industry to Alpbach for the Convention4u, the annual congress of the Austrian congress and meeting industry. Participants were offered training opportunities, a collective exchange and exciting inputs in a sustainable ambience.

Alpbach, the village of thinkers, was the venue for the 14th Convention4U, which is organized annually by the ACB, from July 3^rd to 5^th, 2023. Under the motto of transformation, the nearly 200 participants in the conference laboratory dealt with the necessary changes in the industry, employee structures, artificial intelligence, generational change, but also cherished traditions and bold innovation. Even before the official opening of the conference, newcomers to the industry benefited from the knowledge of experienced colleagues at the Onboarding Camp.

Making sustainability tangible was the focus

This year, the congress was held as a Green Meeting for the 14th time in a row and was awarded the Austrian Eco-Label. The Alpbach Valley with the Green Location Congress Centrum Alpbach as a pioneer in sustainability together with its premium partner accommodations offered the ideal setting. The organizers around ACB, Congress Centrum Alpbach and Convention Bureau Tirol were keen to leave a positive impact on the region. Thus, not only were local restaurants included in the program for a dine-around, but also a wild bee hotel was built as part of a charity campaign by the Tyrolean event agency eventfactory, which is looked after locally by a beekeeper from Alpbach. The donations collected from the campaign benefited the economics class of the middle school Alpbach.

Next congress in Linz

Suppliers, students, stakeholders and other interested parties in the congress and meetings industry can already mark July 1^st to 3^rd, 2024 in their calendar, at which time the 15th Convention4u will take place in the cultural city of Linz.
