Do I have to give up meat to provide sustainable catering?

No – but a plant-based focus for the menu is an effective lever and can – depending on the ingredients and portion sizes – reduce certain environmental impacts: more plant-based options, less waste, but higher quality in animal products – sourced from regional, animal-welfare-friendly farms. Tirolean businesses provide an excellent foundation in this regard.

What sustainability measures do catering companies offer?

Tirol has a thriving regional food production sector – ranging from mountain cheese and Tirolean bacon to fresh fruit and vegetables from the Inntal. Certified and award-winning catering companies prioritise seasonal and regional ingredients, short supply chains and consistent waste prevention.

What role do local partner organisations play?

Experienced service providers play a key role and can offer support in implementing the relevant criteria. Many organisations already hold certifications or awards, or meet individual criteria.

Convention Partners with Sustainability Certification

Choosing the right partners makes it easier to implement specific criteria. In Tirol, you don’t have to look far: certified congress centres, event locations, conference hotels and entire tourist destinations together form a network that actively implements sustainability standards and makes them transparent through certification.

Whether you need professional conference facilities for an international specialist conference, a unique venue for an Incentive event, or accommodation that shares your sustainability goals: throughout Tirol, there are numerous certified and sustainability-focused Partners available to support you every step of the way.

„Regional partnerships, resource-efficient operations, climate-friendly travel: all these aspects are highly valued at the CCA. As a Green Meeting Destination, we see ourselves as setting an example and are delighted when we can inspire our guests to embrace sustainability too.“

For planners, this means you start with a strong foundation and don’t have to organise many sustainability criteria from scratch – they are already part of the venue’s operations.
