Innsbruck
max. 30 People

For over 400 years, the Grassmayr bell foundry in Innsbruck has been manufacturing church bells for all of Europe. During a guided tour, teams can witness firsthand how bells weighing several metric tons are cast from ore. The Bell Museum also showcases the wide variety of bells that exist and have existed—and the sound chamber demonstrates how they ring and resonate.

We recommend because:

  • Bell Casting as a UNESCO-Recognized World Cultural Heritage Site
  • A family-run business with a long history
  • A blend of sound, technology, and history

Description

The Grassmayr Bell Foundry in Innsbruck is a unique place where over 400 years of craftsmanship tradition blend with modern production, offering a particularly impressive setting for incentive trips and corporate events. During a guided tour lasting about one hour, groups follow the bell’s journey from the model through shaping to the casting process in the historic foundry and gain insights into one of Austria’s oldest family-owned businesses (since 1599). The visit is complemented by the adjacent Bell Museum and the Sound Room, where visitors can interactively experience sound, history, and acoustics.
