Side events Drachenboot-Rennen

Innsbruck
max. 120 People

20 paddles, one boat, one rhythm—if anyone dips their paddle too early or too late during a dragon boat race, it slows down the entire team. It’s all about synchronization. Rowing a dragon boat brings people together like few other activities can. After a brief technical briefing by experienced guides, the race begins with timing and commentary. An exciting competition that can take place on various bodies of water in Tyrol.

We recommend because:

  • Paddling in unison fosters a sense of teamwork
  • Ideal for large groups—everyone participates actively at the same time
  • A moderated competition format with an awards ceremony is available for booking
  • Can be combined with a barbecue, picnic, or evening team reflection session

Description

The goal of this competition is to build up speed together with a perfectly coordinated paddling rhythm and gain an advantage over the other teams. After a brief technical introduction by experienced guides, the participants take their places and get a feel for the boat during their first attempts at paddling. It quickly becomes apparent that the boats have their quirks, which adds to the excitement. After a brief acclimatization period and a test run, the actual regatta begins. In several exciting heats, multiple boats compete against each other simultaneously. With each race, ambition and team spirit rise until, after several rounds, the winning team is finally determined. Team sizes range from 14 to 16 people.
