Zillertal

The Zillertal is easily accessible via the Inntal motorway (A12), with an exit at Wiesing and onward access into the valley. International rail services run as far as Jenbach, from where there is a direct train service via the Zillertalbahn into the region. Airports such as Innsbruck, Munich and Salzburg also offer good connections with transfer options.

Thanks to the valley’s compact layout, numerous destinations can be reached quickly and efficiently. The Zillertalbahn runs every half hour from Jenbach to Mayrhofen, providing a safe, punctual and comfortable service to many destinations. In addition, public buses operate throughout the valley.

The Zillertal is divided into four sub-regions. Its central location in the heart of Tirol, just 70 kilometres from Innsbruck, provides ideal connections between all the towns: Fügen-Kaltenbach in the lower Zillertal, Zell-Gerlos with its reservoir of the same name, Mayrhofen-Hippach as the centrepiece, home to the Congress-Europahaus, and Tux-Finkenberg at the end of the valley with the world-famous Hintertux Glacier Ski Resort. All these towns are nestled within the Zillertal Alps High Mountain Nature Park.
