The historic Hall Mint is not only the heart of Tyrolean monetary history, but also that of the dollar. In a place where talers were already being minted on an industrial scale as far back as the Middle Ages, visitors today can experience craftsmanship, technology, and monetary history up close. Custom coin minting is also available.

We recommend because:

  • Historic coin-striking hall with working machines
  • Guided tours focusing on economic and monetary history
  • Dedicated seminar area with halls and rooms

Description

The Hall Mint, located in the historic Hasegg Castle, is one of Europe’s most significant mints and is considered the birthplace of the taler—the coin that gave the modern dollar its name. As an exceptional venue for events and incentives, it combines history, technology, and interactive experiences in an authentic historical setting. Thanks to its central location in Hall in Tirol, it is ideal as a complementary program for conferences, corporate events, and incentives.

In the museum, visitors can explore the history of coin minting through faithfully reconstructed minting machines, historical exhibits, and multimedia presentations. The tour is complemented by modern audio guides in several languages, as well as a climb up the Münzerturm tower, which offers an impressive panoramic view of Hall in Tirol and the Inn Valley. A special highlight is the opportunity to mint your own commemorative coin—a lasting memento of your visit.

For incentive and business groups, customized guided tours are available by advance reservation. A museum tour is designed for groups of up to 25 people; larger groups can be divided into multiple tours upon request. Certified Austria Guides ensure an informative and entertaining presentation of the exhibits. Alternatively, the museum can also be explored with an audio guide.

As a Climate Alliance member, the Hall Mint also places great importance on the responsible use of resources and sustainability.
