Sustainable conferencing in Tirol

The Congress Centrum, together with the village and Alpbachtal Seenland Region have been following a sustainable path for over ten years now.

The extraordinary Alpbach synergy of tradition and modernity has also been preserved in the recent and necessary extension of the Congress Centre (opened in 2016). The bright and airy conference building which nestles into the slope, now offers a total area of 2,796m² and is certified as a Green Location with the Austrian Eco Label.

Guests will find ideal conditions in the mountain village of Alpbach all year round, as well as state-of-the-art technology and perfect service in the Congress Centre, enabling attendees to concentrate on the task in hand and providing better space for “networking.”

The concept of Green Meeting and the subsequent Green Building have borne fruit, and the sustainable idea is now an absolute success story. When it comes to forward-thinking meetings and congresses within the industry, CCA is repeatedly cited as “Best Practice.” Georg Hechenblaikner, Managing Director of Congress Centrum Alpbach, sums up the challenges in a nutshell: “At the end of the day, it goes without saying that we also need to achieve concrete results and a healthy economic basis. We take this responsibility seriously every day anew”. It is not only the Congress Centrum, however, that is maintaining its sustainable course; the growing number of Alpbach catering and accommodation establishments that have been certified with the Austrian Eco-label (10 establishments, as of July 2018) also bear witness to this important development.
