“We are proud that Kitzbühel has established itself as an internationally recognised congress destination in recent years and that we have been able to make a valuable contribution to Tirol’s position as the second largest organiser of international congresses in Austria (after Vienna),” says Birgit Ducke, Managing Director of the “KitzKongress” congress centre in Kitzbühel.
“One example is the “Global Wellness Summit”, the world’s leading industry event that took place at our KitzKongress from 17th to 19th October 2016 with 550 participants from 43 nations. This made the 10th congress the largest event in the history of the Global Wellness Summit – larger than in previous years, for example in New York or Mexico City. Kitzbühel was even able to outdo Abu Dhabi as venue for the anniversary summit.
During the Global Wellness Summit, Tirol’s wellness elite was able to present itself on the one hand, while Tirol was put in the limelight as a wellness oasis with its natural resources and perfect infrastructure on the other.
The effects of the international summit were remarkable in several respects: around 2,000 overnight stays were generated in and around Kitzbühel and a turnover of around 1.35 million euros was recorded. International reporting resulted in an advertising value of approx. 2.8 million Euro.
